Bob’s Lock and Cycle

Issue

Bob’s Lock & Cycle has been part of the South Phoenix business community for 70 years. Its current owner has run the shop since the 90s. In addition to providing 24-hour emergency locksmith services, it has a strong commercial client base for equipment service on machinery, industrial and garden tools and also sells and services bicycles. The business has relied on word of mouth, a website and Yellow Pages advertising  to inform and attract potential customers. With this outdated digital presence, the owner needed help evaluating how to update business listings, website and ad contracts.

Solution

As part of the Valley Metro TAC program, The Barnhart Co. worked with Bob’s Lock & Cycle to optimize its digital marketing tools. The Barnhart Co. recommended the client move away from its outdated Yellow Pages ad contract and instead bring its website and search engine review pages under its own control.

Support

The owner did not often use or have a background in web-based marketing tools. This made providing communication, support and knowledge of online resources for small businesses essential in the transition from his outdated platforms to current assets.

The Barnhart Co. was able to help this long-time Phoenix business update its digital marketing tools and bring them in-house resulting in 90 percent savings on external advertising costs.
